Thank you to everyone who participated in our second annual “Hami Day”

The lacrosse program at Hamilton has overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to become the newest lacrosse program to join CIF’s City Section as part of LAUSD’s City League. The program is funded almost exclusively through private donations from individuals and local businesses.

A key part of this our fundraising effort is an annual all-day fundraising event in partnership with West LA lacrosse which we call “Hami Day”. On this day we ask West LA Lacrosse players, families and friends to help support the Hamilton High School Yankees’ Boys and Girls lacrosse teams by purchasing apparel, raffle tickets, food or beverages from our “Hami Day” booth. This year’s the booth was at Mar Vista park over two successive Saturdays.

In addition to raising money, this event is also a way in which we can raise awareness of Hamilton Lacrosse with local middle school lacrosse players and their families. The Friends of Yankee lacrosse would like to thanks West Lacrosse and the following people for helping to make this year’s event a success.

• Clark Pierce, President of West LA lacrosse

• Mitch Fenton for coordinating, setting-up and working the event

• Dominique Milquet for making and selling her “amazing” Belgium waffles.

• John Moyer for making and selling his “fantastic” pulled pork sliders

• The Moyer family for set-up, the signage, handouts and baked goods

• The Winston family for helping to coordinate, baked goods and staffing the event

• The Canedy for working the booth

• The Gilmore Marcus family for baked goods and working the booth.

• The Seidel family for working the booth

• All the Hamilton players who helped set-up and work the event

Every donation makes a difference so we are truly grateful for all the support we received from WLA lacrosse families and the local lacrosse community.
